The AUN Writing Center (WC) took a progressive step on February 9, 2024, by hosting a workshop focused on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into writing proficiency, held at the Robert pastor e-library鈥檚 24-hour room. The workshop aimed to equip students with innovative skills for effective communication.
Tutors of the Writing Center highlighted the significance of tools like 鈥淕rammarly Go,鈥� emphasizing their potential in enhancing writing skills. The workshop covered various aspects, including writing logic, essay styles, fact-checking, and ethical considerations when utilizing AI in writing.听
The training approach reflected a well-rounded strategy to equip participants with both traditional and modern writing skills, by combining a focus on writing styles, fact-checking proficiency, and AI integration. Participants were prepared to navigate the complexities of effective and efficient writing in today's digital landscape.
Additionally, the tutors underscored the importance of using AI tools responsibly and ethically, which includes being aware of the limitations of AI, respecting copyright and intellectual property, and maintaining integrity in the overall writing process. On plagiarism, participants were reminded that choosing not to plagiarize indicates a commitment to academic integrity, ethical writing practices, and originality.
