In an impressive display of creativity, AUN Schools (Charter) students showcased projects to mark their Science Fair for 2023.
The annual event took place on Friday, November 10, and featured several innovative student projects. Parents, teachers, and community members gathered to witness the students’ dedication to science and innovation.
Ms. Rose Clarkson, the AUN Charter School Supervisor, was confident that students in the Charter school are enthusiastic about learning and providing solutions to environmental challenges.
"When our parents look at what their children can do, they will know that they are getting value for their investment. With support, these kids will lead a breakthrough in scientific and technological innovation in Nigeria.
Grade 8 students Bryan Onoja and Abdulrazaq Ahmed Ibrahim presented a project on solar energy, as they demonstrated how energy from the sun is converted to power. It is based on the exploration of sustainable energy sources using homemade solar panels.
Another notable project was centered on photosynthesis, how chemical reactions convert light energy, water, and carbon dioxide (Co2) into food energy molecule glucose while giving off oxygen, presented by La'aridorni Martin Machoko, a Grade 8 student.
Also, Marianne Bill-Hanssen. a grade 10 student, had a project on food that is beneficial to persons aged 50 years and above; she shared a comprehensive list of food that can be helpful to humans, like sweet potatoes, broccoli, eggplant, and many more.
Guests applauded the creativity of the students’ works on exhibition.
Mrs. Amina Abubakar, observed that the works on display were amazing. She lauded the students for their outstanding work, and appreciated the school teachers and staff preparing them for the real world.
