AUN Institute of Training and Innovation Collaborates with HR to Reorient Staff for Enhanced Service Delivery

The Institute for Training and Innovation, in collaboration with the Department of Human Resources and Planning at the ºÚÁÏÍø (AUN), initiated a three-day workshop that refreshed the minds of staff on August 23, 2024, at the School of Law Conference Room. The training aimed to orient newly hired staff and reorient existing members under the theme "Investing in Our People: Leveraging Employee Commitment to Enhance Service Delivery."

The workshop catered for various categories of employees, including senior safety and security officers, administrative and support staff, interns, corps members, newly hired employees, drivers, firefighters, and transportation department staff. It aimed to reinforce the universal standard of work ethics, interpersonal relations, teamwork, collaboration, and self-development for effective service delivery. Emphasizing respect for one another, adherence to AUN policies, and workplace principles. The workshop also promoted tolerance for multi-ethnic cultures, religions, and various social backgrounds.Ìý

The training objective centered on sharing insights into AUN's corporate culture, stakeholder expectations, and individual self-development as crucial elements in realizing the university's strategic vision.

The Interim Manager of the Institute of Training and Innovation, Mr. Muhammad Dauda Bello, said, "This workshop marks the beginning of many initiatives aimed at enhancing staff development across the university. This initiative reflects AUN's commitment to equipping our staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles, as announced by President Dewayne Frazier in the Strategic Vision Plan on staff motivation and development. Part of this development plan initiative includes providing employees with access to Academic Impressions training, which is highly regarded by top universities in the United States, "he stated.

Assistant Vice President of Human Resources and Planning, Hajiya Fazuatu Abubakar, described the Staff Training Workshop, jointly organized with the AUN Training Institute, as a highly successful event. "Participants found the workshop highly enlightening and gained valuable new insights. Everyone who attended is now better prepared to enhance their work performance, and we are looking forward to improved outcomes this semester."ÌýÌý
