AUN students have elected a new set of leaders. The Student Government Association (SGA) elections were conducted on April 24, and a new executive committee was elected for the 23/24 session. Dean Byron Bullock Swore-in the new SGA exco on May 1. 2023.
The new SGA Officials are:
- President – Talford Ongolo
- Vice President – Farouk Abubakar
- PRO – Ibrahim Yusuf.
Eleven senators were also elected to represent the various student constituencies. The new senators are A'ishah Ibrahim, Abdullahi Isiyaku, Sambo Abba Tahir, Ahmed Babangida Amarachi Nzekwe, and Muhammad Mu'azu.
Others are Eric Allagoa, Kullipilang Dah, Oyinkansola Ayeni, Ruqayya Sulu Gambari and Jibril Sa'ad.e
The outgone SGA President, Ms. Halima Mohammed, sent a cute and admirable message to the students and the Community as she exited a historic and eventful tenure. Ms. Halima led an all-female Executive Committee. She was articulate and represented the University’s image adroitly during important occasions.

Dear AUN Family,
It is oftenÌýsaid that only a life lived for others, is a life worthwhile; thank you for making ours worthwhile.Ìý
As we draw the curtain on our tenure, I would like to express our gratitude to the entire AUN community. It has been such an honor serving you this past year, and we will carry with us all the memories, all the lessons, and all the experiences as we moveÌýforward in our respectiveÌýendeavors.
To the newly sworn-in executives; Congratulations once again. You have taken up a big mantle indeed, but I am confident that you will stay true to the vision of the student government, and carry out your duties always, with the interest of the student body in mind.
Thank you to all the outgoing directors and senators. We would not have been able to do it without your hard work and dedication.
